Spring Qualifying Round: May 11

What a fantastic competition day we had!

Early in the morning, all teams gathered in Gullringen for competition information and distribution of measuring boards and start numbers. New for this qualifier was the opportunity to choose between three lakes to fish in during the day – Norrlången, Skirsjön, and Möckeln. No team chose Norrlången, while the remaining teams were divided almost evenly between the other two lakes.

At 8:15 in the morning., the competition began, and just seven minutes into the event, Team Rulle registered the first pike. After 2.5 hours, the number of registered pike had already reached the total recorded during last year’s spring competition, with 41 pike. The battle for the top positions quickly came down to four teams – Team Gäddhäng, Knappt Nåt, Mossjöslipsarna, and Team Gäddhugg.

Team Gäddhäng landed the longest fish of the competition, an impressive 121 cm (longer than the measuring board), they secured the 4 bonus points. In total of 95 pikes were registered by 38 participants.

As usual, we gathered afterward for a recap and some encouragement for the teams currently placed 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in the competition, as well as for the lucky losers.

Thank you for this event, and we look forward to seeing you again on August 31
